An infection in the tooth sould be very serious if the poison travels to the brain. Do not hesitate to go to emergency room where they will treat you with antibiotics, and pain, and suggest a dentist that i am sure will say either to extract it, or root canal. I wish you the best of luck but please go the nearest emergency room and seek treatment for the infection.
