what can I do to correct dental caries?

By: admin
Published: November 28th, 2009

I was at dentist and had a check up and I forgot to ask what I could do for the brown specs on the front teeth, very tiny but ruins my smile in my eyes anyhow. please help. Thanks

For a cavity that is physically there, your only option may be to get it filled. To prevent FUTURE cavities, try using a fluoridated tooth paste (ie crest pro health) and mouth wash. Like I said though, they only prevent future cavities from forming, and unfortunately don’t help with cavities that are pre-existing.

C. have dental caries.

D. have an undiagnosed disease.

D. If the patient hasn’t had an exam/physical in a long time, there’s no telling what could be going on…..just because one feels well, doesn’t mean they are.

What is so great about ACT mouthwash?

By: admin
Published: November 18th, 2009

My dentist and so many other dentists and dental professionals recommend ACT mouthwash to help prevent dental caries. They say it is because of the protective effect of the fluoride in ACT. But is ACT great only because of the fluoride? Or because it doesn’t contain alcohol? I use fluoride toothpaste, why isn’t this enough? Also, there’s a version of Listerine that is alcohol-free and contains fluoride. Is this as good as ACT?

Anytime you can apply fluoride to the teeth, you will benefit from it. Toothpastes, mouthwashes, and topical application at the dental office, are all beneficial. It really does not matter about which brand is used. The all push there products with marketing methods.

what causes hyperactivity? how do you overcome the problem?

By: admin
Published: October 30th, 2009

Development of eating patterns and food preferences occurs during childhood. As well, many nutrition and health problems begin at this time. these include problems such as obesity, constipation, dental caries, and HYPERACTIVITY. Parents need to be aware of how to cope with these problems and how to encourage healthy eating habits in their children.

Hyperactivity:
Causes of problem?
Guidlines and hints on how to overcome the problem.
Suggest a day’s menu that encourages healthy eating.

I would say partly heretic and the other bad parenting.

With what material a supragingival caries is restored?

By: admin
Published: October 23rd, 2009

The caries is in a second inferior molar. My dentist says you cannot restore it with resine(because of the moisture of the surrounding tissue?)and he would do a veneer.Y dont want to lose my dental piece,Y would like just to restore it.Y would be very thankful if a dentist answered me…

It is true that resins are very moisture sensitive and if it impossible to isolate the tooth, and pack the gums properly, the resin may shortly fail. Also because of the location of the tooth it makes it even more difficult. However it can be done properly as I know from experience. Also to bond a veneer you need good moisture control. Maybe the dentist wants to strengthen the tooth but if so a crown would be a better option. Some questions you may want answered Susan. Good luck

Oolong Tea and It’s Healthy Benefits

By: admin
Published: October 5th, 2009

The best method for keeping the body and mine at the highest level!

Wu-Long Teas
A direct translation for Black Dragon, Oolong Tea’s meaning is both mystifying and tempting. No other category of teas includes such a wide range of shapes, colours and aromas.
No other processing technique relies so much on the individual recipes passed down through so many generations. Quite simply, Oolong tea offers something for everyone, from bold-rich roasted flavors to subtle and mellow floral aromas

It is safe to say that all tea is good for you. Oolong in particular has been getting a lot of attention in medical literature. Consider the following

  • Diabetes - Oolong tea may be an effective adjunct to oral hypoglycemic agents in the treatment of type 2 diabetes.
  • Eczema - Japanese researchers reported that patients with a form of eczema improved after drinking a liter of oolong tea daily.
  • Allergies - Two catechin derivatives (C-1 and C-2) with potent antiallergic activity were isolated from Taiwanese oolong tea.
  • Bacterial infections - Oolong tea polyphenols strongly inhibited the enzyme activities of some types of streptococci.
  • Cavities - Oolong tea polyphenolic compounds could be useful for controlling dental caries.
  • Obesity - Consumption of oolong tea stimulates both EE and fat oxidation in normal weight men.
  • Cancer - Oolong tea extract has a chemopreventive action against hepatocarcinogenesis.

So is Oolong Good for You?

Drink oolong tea for your health, but don’t lose sight of this simple fact - people have been drinking tea for thousands of years because it is a great tasting beverage. Sit back, relax, and savour the sensations as you sip this wonderful drink. It’s good for the soul, and what’s good for the soul is certainly good for the body.
