Caries below the fixed bridge?
Published: July 17th, 2009
How often does it occur?
I´ve never had caries in my life, I´m 44, but I feel some pain in the area of a tooth that supports the fixed bridge.
What is it most likely to be?
My dentist was not specific. It´s few weeks I feel a small pain.
My dentist is a friend of mine. He never takes me for serious because I have excellent teeth..so he didn´t send me to x-rey. Still I am afraid of caries so I´ll do it.
Thank you.
there are chances of caries or periodontal problems. Need to take an x ray & find out.

It’s possible that a cavity has developed below the bridge. If you don’t floss around your bridge and underneath then caries can develop.
You could have gotten a popcorn hull or something down underneath…or bruised the tooth… What was the Dentists diagnosis…did he take an xray?

Caries can occur under a fixed bridge. It happens occasionally. It is best to get it taken care of as soon as possible so you don’t lose the bridge.
