Can I use a coaxial cable splitter on coaxial cable that caries a DSL signal or will that affect the signal?
I have an apartment building with cable wires running to each room. There are splitters on the cable that branch off to different rooms. I have heard that some systems don't work with splitters (ie Dish network TV) Does anyone know if you can use spitters on coaxial cable?
Yes you can use splitters on the cable. But be careful the signal will fall 3.5 Db on each "leg" of the splitter if you have too many splitters then TV will look grainy and the cable modem service will not work. If you have no other splitters in the house then you should not have a problem. Being that you in an apartment in really will depend on the NID (box outside) and how the cable co installer have "played" with the wires in that box.
