What causes frequent bad breath & how can you prevent it?
Please help….My daughter brushes several times a day and has had her braces off for about 6 months and has beautiful straight white teeth, but she always has bad breath? What causes it & how can you prevent it?
According to the Dental School in New York 80 to 90 percent of bad breath is caused by bacteria that grow on the top of the tongue and produce sulfur containing compounds that stink. Good oral hygiene is to brush and floss the teeth and then clean the top of the tongue with a good tongue cleaner. Brushing your tongue while brushing you teeth helps. There are things you can eat like anise seed or parsley.

sometimes if you have like alot of foods that make you birp linger in your mouth or if you have like acid reflex…which im sure she doesnt..but just in case…that also does it…id try mouth wash..that is very effective because it is so strong..also just in case …..put a few mints in her purse or gum for those inbetween times you have no mouth wash alothough there are portable ones around….hope i helped!!
