Why do people say that if every tree on earth was cut off than we will not have oxygen to breath. if that’s
the case than why are people cutting trees to build houses or things. don't u think from every tree they cut, one person died or can't breath. snice these tree were suppose to give us oxygen, than why so many are cut? and why we need oxgyen from trees?

Trees only supply a small part of the oxygen we need, so don't panic.
Most of the oxygen comes from the oceans.

Considering that the oxygen atmosphere predates trees by about 100 million years, I suspect the trees are not absolutely needed. Even then, the number cut in an average year is relatively little compared to the total supply; and they have a tendency to grow back if you let them.

some will point out that the majority of the oxygen we breathe is made by single cell organisms in the ocean called phytoplankton that generate oxygen.
so, as another poster has said, trees are not as valuable as the 'go go green' hippies say they are for oxygen generation.
what trees are valuable for is making stuff. a lot of stuff comes from trees such as wood for construction, pulp for paper and toilet paper, fuel for heat, art work material, furniture etc etc etc.
i HIGHLY doubt that trees would run out in north america as there is a policy of something like for every tree cut down another 2 to 4 is replanted. so the 'danger' of trees becoming extinct in north america is slim. of course, this didnt exist until recently as the european settlers hacked down countless acres to clear the way for the farmland we have today. but for the most part, north america has a handle of things.
now, go to places like south america, asia and africa…you will see rampant cutting of trees and the clearing of rain forest with ZERO control or thought to the environment. these places will suffer horrific problems ranging from mudslides, drought and ever increasing area of desert lands
if you want to see what outcome may result of uncontrolled raping of the earth, research things like easter island, north atlantic cod population decimation, the dust bowl of the depression the dodo bird and you will get a picture of how stupid man can be!

every time a tree is cut down the seeds from that tree become air born, those seeds will grow into hundreds of trees in years to come. so nothing to worry about.

humans are greedy consumption hungry beings that are slow to find any balance within the habitats they live in. We are kind of like cancer attacking a persons body except humans attack the earth and everything that lives on it even each other. Some day most if not all humans will die and the earth will grow back. Humans can't kill everything on purpose or otherwise. Or maybe that was our job all along, but I feel we just have so much power to change, create, and destroy our world with these little thumbs of ours and this wonderful brain, yet some how we have yet to develop the self-control needed to keep from destroying ourselves and the beings around us. Good luck to us and the future of our planet, but nothing ever stays the same.

Trees literally act as a filter for the air we breath.
They take in carbons and pollutants and leave breathable air.
Every time a tree is cut down, all the carbons it has taken in it's life, is expelled back into the air.
Tree's do not supply the earth with air. They clean it. So with every tree that is cut down, a certain amount of air does not stop existing and a person does not die. Unless the fallen tree happens to fall on a person in which case is purely coincidental.
Trees are chopped down for wood because controlled cutting is of little effect. Per fully grown tree that is cut down, three or more saplings are planted. This is how it works in a perfect world. Sadly, this is far from that.

Every plant produces oxygen, not just trees– although we do need to be more conservative with our natural resources.

It is the greed in them that is compelling them to do this, and they are not aware what havoc they are playing to the environment.

it's true there are other places oxygen comes from but trees especially large trees use carbon dioxide and monixide as we use oxygen. trees filter these toxins from the air and then release oxygen in the form of o2 as well as o3. replacing much needed O-Zone and cleaning the air we need. which those funky little planktons will not do. So many trees are still being cut because so many people still just don't care. the fact that people have even started planting trees after cutting is a "nice" idea but only part of what needs to be done. Will "we" run out of air if we destroy all the trees maybe not. but the effect will be disastrous on the earth from lack of habitat for millions of other plants and creatures some of which we still don't even know exist. It all goes back to the all mighty dollar everyone wants it and if cutting trees is how you get yours… you ain't about to stop doing it.
