What will a dentist usually do to repair a small chip on a molar?

By: admin
Published: October 30th, 2009

I was at the dentist for a cleaning the other day, and he said that I had a small chip that we I should get taken care. He said something about something maybe separating???

It looks like a tiny chip on the outside of my molar.

I have insurance, but I still have to pay 20%.

I made an appointment and I forgot to ask what he is actually going to do. I am trying to figure out if this is going to be expensive or not.

He may just be going to place a bonded filling in the small chip. This would be inexpensive. If the tooth had a larger crack and was weakened, he would place a crown on the tooth. This would require 2 appointments and would be much more expensive. I would think if he was going to do this he would have told you. Good luck

How can I find the least expensive dentures/denture care in Washington state?

Published: October 30th, 2009

I am looking for the least expensive dentures/denture provider in Washington state(Snohomish/King County area). What about the idea of going to Canada for dentures? Would I get a better deal? I have a qoute of about $550 right now but want to see if I can get a better deal.

Locally, check the UW School of Dentistry.

If you wish to travel, you will have better luck heading east of the mountains instead of north to Canada. I’ve heard rumors dental care is about half the cost on the eastern side. In Canada private pay is expensive and you wouldn’t qualify for their federal health care program.

These are just ideas, I do not have any quotes.

How do you get rid of really bad breath?

Published: October 30th, 2009

I have really bad breath and I don’t know how to get rid of it. I’ve tried gargling salt water, a tongue scrubber, mouthwash, mint gum, mint sprays, but it’s still there.

If it bad teeth or a gum problem you might need a dentist.

If it is a stomach problem then chlorophyll might help.

Chlorophyll is an internal deodorant that deodorises your interior and reduces the odour of everything that comes out so if it reduces stomach odours then your breath should improve.

what causes hyperactivity? how do you overcome the problem?

Development of eating patterns and food preferences occurs during childhood. As well, many nutrition and health problems begin at this time. these include problems such as obesity, constipation, dental caries, and HYPERACTIVITY. Parents need to be aware of how to cope with these problems and how to encourage healthy eating habits in their children.

Hyperactivity:
Causes of problem?
Guidlines and hints on how to overcome the problem.
Suggest a day’s menu that encourages healthy eating.

I would say partly heretic and the other bad parenting.

Tips to Find the Best Teeth Whitening Company On the Internet

By: admin
Published: October 29th, 2009

First of all, to find a teeth whitening company on the internet you can use a search engine like Google, Yahoo! or MSN live search. But you will get thousands of results and hundreds of different companies. And the number one in Google doesn’t say it is the best company! So to find the best company you have to analyse every company you find on the internet.

Once you’ve found a company for white teeth (or wittere tanden), you can visit the website and take a closer look at the website.

When you’re on a website for witte tanden, you must ask yourself this main question: is this company reliable, and not a fake one?

Well here are a few tips to find out if a witte tanden company is real or not. First of all you need to search for contact information on the website. Do they have a visitors address, a phone number, a contact form. And is the phone number a business phone number and not a mobile cell phone number.

The next thing you need to do is to find out if it’s a real company. Search their website for a business registration number. Also you can email the website and ask some sort of question. If they respond very quickly and professional they might be a real company.

You must also take a look at their product prices. If they tell you they have a witte tanden product and it costs almost nothing compared to other websites you may get a so called ‘cat in a plastic bag’. So beware of that!

Also when other customers have complaints or maybe they like the product very much, they talk about products in internet forums and blogs and websites like that. So you can search in Google for the business or product name. And if can read the websites that have reviews or personal opinions about it.

But when you use these tips it might be that a company that doesn’t comply to one or more of these tips doesn’t always have to be a fake company, it can even be a really good company. And also these tips are not always a way to see if a company is a good company or not, and even if a company complies to all of these tips it can still be a fake company.

So I wish you very good luck with your search for witte tanden, white teeth.

Dental Town Adviser Talks About Why It’s the Best Time to be a Dentist Today

By: admin
Published: October 29th, 2009

In this article, dental town adviser Ed O’ Keefe will give you an update on what’s happening in the dental profession today that’s new, that’s hot, that is making practices more successful than ever. The dental town adviser will share to you the reason why now is the best time to be in a dental practice. And the dental town adviser will also share to you how to systemize your practice so that you can gain more patients. And this is something they focus specifically at their dental practice website!

Here’s what’s Ed is going to share with you:

Now with the talk of the economy and everything that’s going on, the reality is that there has never been a better time to be a dentist, or to be a marketer of the dental practice right now! And that’s what I have realized as a dental town adviser. With the â??baby boomerâ? explosion that’s occurring right now and seniors living longer than ever before, there’s never been a better time to reposition and start sub-niching dental practices. Repositioning is about making the practice something for a particular demographic group where they have a great deal of discussion to spend whether they have good coverages, and they have problems like, for example, how to market dental implants. I always think like dental implants is the easiest thing to make big money quickly in dentistry, because you have frustrated patients, people out there with dentures and partials/missing teeth who have serious health problems if they don’t have natural teeth or strong teeth, even if they’re fake. Those are real concerns out there, and since people are living longer they want to have the stronger, healthier, more durable teeth. So to market to that kind of population is really simple because they have those kind of dental problems. For example, here’s a person who have bad dentures and partials for years, and there would be a $36,000-dental care required for her to go to the dentist and have the problem taken cared of… plus there would be an additional cosmetic work of course, because once you start to fix the function, you would want to fix the appearance! So marketing your services to this person would be a very good idea, because it would solve the dental problem that she has!

Now, the biggest problems that a lot of doctors have in general is that they get more education, more clinical training, and they think that that’s going to fix their income. But the reality is that the answer lies in the marketing of their services. It’s like your â??backdooringâ? it instead of trying to tell everybody that you’re the best dentist there is (while anyone can say that and everybody’s saying that!). So as a dental town adviser, what we do differently than just about anybody else is we just teach them how to sub-niche and that’s really going to be where the future of the next level of marketing of dentistry is! It’s really like having 2, or 3, or 4 mini practices in one practice! One of the things that we did is in the area of Invisalign. Invisalign is very well known and so I know that a lot of my doctors were promoting Invisalign, and they were struggling with it. They went out and got trained, spent all weekend, and so some of them have tested and tried the Open House. Well, we know how to run seminars so we just shifted the gears, we told them how to run Open House and seminars. And if you do an Open House correctly using marketing, you can’t just throw it out to the open house because you have nobody showing up, but if you do multi-seminar marketing, do it the right way like we teach! We had guys do $100,000 in one day in their dental practices and just recently, one of our implant clients did a workshop for niche-marketing, targeted-marketing, and they went to a little area that’s outside where it’s like a retirement community of people. And within 45 minutes, 20 implant cases came from it and referrals were coming from it. And it went over $200,000 of revenue in the first month and a half. So it’s just kind of like shifting having to do with the thinking of how you’re going with your business, we could do 1 or 2 of these every quarter and sell more dentistry than doing mailers all day long. You see, it’s all about the fact that the dentist has to be willing to change this whole thinking about price, about markets, and about marketing!

As a dental town adviser, what I’m doing is making them very efficient, so really, one of the doctors that I’m best suited for is the guy who’s like actually marketing a verse, who finds it painful, who finds it troublesome, who only likes to do it under a desperate circumstances. It’s because I can actually systemize it in a way that he doesn’t have to pay attention to it everyday, he doesn’t have to be involved in it all the time! You can have periodic events that feed the whole practice. And that’s very cool! In addition to this, one thing we’ve realized especially with dental practices is that the previous scale are continuing to grow and getting off the “dental treadmill” or the “rollercoaster income” kind of analogies. Now, we’re training the staff to run all the marketing for the doctors! So even if it’s a different language to them, we got systems that would teach the staff member or team member, and we do these trainings all the time. So if you hire somebody new, we’ll train them and turn them into a little mini-marketing expert in your office, and that’s the way they should run it, and it creates that ideal lifestyle that we teach our doctors as well. The keyword there is “system”. You should know that all of the wealthy people in America is traced to such systems, and that’s the “make-a-break” difference in businesses, and every dentist should find out about them and investigate them!

Veneer: an Amazing Technique for Teeth Whitening

By: admin
Published: October 29th, 2009

Teeth whitening procedure in cosmetic dentistry is the most wonderful thing that has happened to present us a beautiful smile. We often lose the whiteness of our teeth due to a number or reasons. Smoking, drinking tea or coffee/cola, food, aging, etc. discolor our teeth. Number of times we develop chips or deep spots on the tooth that make our smile quite unattractive. Cosmetic dentistry procedures like veneer take care of all our problems regarding the look of our teeth.

Teeth whitening can be a simple process if the stains are not too strong. You can use home bleaching procedures or visit your dentist for laser bleaching. But often things are not that simple. There can be deep stains or small hole on the tooth that needs fixing or alteration of the shape of your tooth. This is where veneers come in.

This process is essentially done in the dentist’s office. It is extremely important to take full information on the dentist before you start with the procedure. Veneer can be done only under the supervision of an expert dentist.

Veneers are wafer-thin porcelain strips which the cosmetic dentist will bond over the teeth to give it a whole new look. Veneers are made to duplicate our natural teeth color and texture so that it should not stand out from our natural teeth after the treatment.

Teeth whitening with veneer needs some preparation from the dentist. A tiny portion of the tooth is removed to give the porcelain strip the space. Then the impression of the tooth is taken by the dentist. This impression is used to create the customized veneer for your teeth in the laboratory. Next, the special veneer prepared for the patient will be placed over the tooth. A special glue is applied on the surface of the tooth and the veneer is placed on it. To make the veneer hard and durable a laser beam is applied to bond it with the tooth. Veneering will take only two to three visits to the cosmetic dentist.

You need to take care of your veneer after the procedure. You should maintain your oral hygiene. You need to floss and brush your teeth well. Teeth whitening with veneers last longer than bonding. It is stronger too, as porcelain is harder than bonding paste. You should avoid too much of tea, coffee or foods that stain the teeth. Also, you should not grind your teeth or bite into hard things. This will damage the veneer covering. If the veneer is damaged or broken it cannot be repaired. You will need to get a new veneering done.

In teeth whitening procedures veering is generally done to the teeth which show when we smile. It can be done to both sets of teeth, upper and lower. It is easy for the dentist to match the color of the teeth to the porcelain veneer. Since they are made of porcelain veneers match the glassy exterior of a normal teeth. As a normal teeth reflects light veneered teeth too does the same.

Bad Breath and How to Tell If you Have It!

By: admin
Published: October 29th, 2009

How to check if your breath is kiss-able fresh or is bad enough to stop a clock on the other side of the world no matter how clean and white your smile

OK, here’s the scoop on bad breath or as it’s more formally called, halitosis. Smelly breath has ruined more romantic evenings than your white and bright teeth will ever make happen. It’s not to the point where I would say that if you ever hope to have a romantic, hot, passionate night with your favorite loved one, you’re got to have a fresh mouth, but it’s close.

Notice this will NOT be a typical spiel saying that breath doesn’t matter considering what’s done during those romantic adventures. Considering where our mouths usually end up during those trysts with our significant other, I can hear some guys say what’s the difference?

The difference is that someone with clean and fresh breath has a much greater chance of being kissed than someone with halitosis. To get interest from someone, we can’t offend them! This means clean is preferred to smelly, and this goes especially for your mouth and fingernails. A clean mouth with white teeth and a great smile suggest a healthy person. Odors, especially here in the United States have a negative connotation and are not considered positive.

So without further ado, let’s take a look at how we can check our breath.
One of the best ways to tell if you’re breath is “less than great”, is to ask a friend or close relative to just smell your mouth. Have them check to be sure the smell is coming from your mouth and NOT your nose.
If the odor is from your nose, it’s probably coming from your upper nasal passage. This can indicate an infection or sinus problem that should probably be looked at by your doctor.
If the odor is from your mouth, chances are that a good cleaning can make your breath smell fresh and pleasant. An effective halitosis treatment is good dental health. Good breath by the way is actually neutral in smell.

The main causes of halitosis is poor dental hygiene. Food particles get stuck between your teeth then start to rot and smell. By regularly seeing your dentist and keeping up a regimen of brushing and flossing daily, halitosis will disappear as if by magic.

Assuming the odor is coming from your mouth, the next question would be what kind of odor? If the smell is a definite food type odor, a good brushing, flossing and mouthwash will do the trick. If however, the odor is more of rotting or definite unpleasant smell, it’s time for a more comprehensive cleaning.

Now if you don’t have a good friend to check you breath, I have another idea that works almost as good.

Stick a clean finger in your mouth and rub your tongue as far back as possible WITHOUT making yourself gag. This will collect the saliva, bacteria and odor from your tongue. Next, run the saliva on the back of your hand and wait about a minute then smell your hand. If not something YOU would like to kiss, time to get out the toothbrush, dental floss and mouthwash.

You can have the whitest teeth and a bright smile but without dealing with bad mouth odor, no one will want to get around you. don’t let dull teeth or smelly breath lower your kiss-ability potential!
