How long to be a dentist after becoming a dental hygienist?

Hi, I was just wondering how long it takes to become a dentist after obtaining a bachelors in dental hygiene?

LONG ANSWER:
It depends on the pre-requisite courses required by the dental schools you’re interested in and the courses you’ve already taken.
Most dental schools require you to have: Inorganic Chem, Organic Chem, Biology, Physics, PLUS at least an Associates Degree (most prefer Bachelors). If you have NO pre-requisites completed for that particular school of interest, on average, you could complete them all in a year (full time). This is just an estimate based on average Dental School pre-requisite requirements. Depending on which classes you’ve already taken for your Hygiene degree, this could be shorter since some Hygiene programs actually require Chemistry, etc…
NOW…You’ll need to attend Dental School for a full 4 years to become a dentist (Doctor of Dental Surgery/Medicine). There are some accelerated programs that are 3 years but they’re few and far between.

SHORT ANSWER:
3-4 years if you have all dental school pre-requisite courses completed.

5-6 years if you haven’t completed all dental school pre-requisite courses.

The skinny one is ‘line’, the wide one is neutral.
Unless something is very wrong, both carry the same load.
The round one is the ground.

What brand of teeth whitening strips work the best?

I have been through tubes of whitening toothpaste and my teeth are not white yet.

There are also many kinds of over-the-counter teeth whiteners, but they are expensive, have unreliable results, and may actually cause harm to teeth. They are also messy, and some people have even experienced allergic reactions from the bleaching chemicals inside the over the counter teeth whitening kits. It is best to leave teeth whitening to those who are trained to deal with any kind of side effects that may arise. I found a website all about teeth whitening that you should check out

How do I make the trip to the dentist more enjoyable?

I go to the dentist each month and each time I dread the experience. The reason why I hate going to the dentist is because of the toothpaste. I just feels all crunchy and when they put it on it feels really weird. I ask for mint flavor because that is the most tasteless paste in my opinion. Is there some other toothpaste I can ask them to use? Is there a way I can make it more enjoyable?

In the office I work in. We have cherry paste that taste really good, also we have pinacolda and grape as well as bubblegum which is very yummy! And we do have the traditional mint. To make your visit more comfortable try taking a pair of headphones with you so you can listen to music. Our office provides headphones and we have T.V. in every room.

Routine pre-operative antibiotics per AHA recommendations. The patient is probably a child, so use weight-adjusted dosage. Consult with the cardiologist in areas of doubt.

What should I expect getting immediate dentures?

I am 34 years old,and my teeth are breaking all to pieces.I am going to have all my upper teeth removed, and have immediate dentures so I don’t have to go with no teeth.I am wondering what to expect when I have this done.

I disagree with the poster that says your brain never adjusts to having a foreign object in the mouth. I have had mine about 2 1/2 weeks and already I start to forget I have mine in. Over time your mine does adjust to dentures being in place.

As far as eating goes well that’s a process. They say in the beginning only have softer foods but I will be the first to tell you that did not last long with me. Within a week I was eating pork chops. The key in the beginning is to use a knife and form and take smaller bites.

You have to relearn how to talk again. You have to figure out the tongue placement and what not again. So talk talk talk even if there is no one around. Sing in the car out loud, anything you can do to practice talking. Within two weeks there are only a few sounds that give me a hard time.

As far as the actual fitting of the dentures (i.e. making them) well that’s a process. Some places use this liquid type of putty in a tray that goes in the mouth to do impressions. Thats how mine was made and that stuff is nasty. Some use a wax type material to make impressions. When they are first made and put in there will be many places that pinch and hurt like all get out. They will grind all those places down.

How do you fix and prevent bad breath produced by a dog?

My dog Pearl, has real bad breath.
How can you prevent this and what is the best and efficient way to stop this.

Firsty have a look in the mouth……is there tartar on the back teeth especially?
If so the vet may need to do a scale and polish and check if any teeth need removing.
Then for prevention the BEST thing is to brush the teeth.
Also feeding bones.
There is a great dry food out there called Hills prescription diet T/D for teeth diet. This helps prevent tartar and ginivitis.
